* Titanic Sinking in Real Time
I don’t know about everyone else, but my favorite library books as a kid were about ancient Egypt, the Titanic, and anything space related. I only saw the movie ‘Titanic’ as a kid because of all the authenticity they tried to inject into the movie (you guys… it was the same dish and carpet company!). Extra bonus the soundtrack was stunning… the instrumentals, not the Celine Dion song.
Regardless, this is a great visualization of how the ship sank over 2.5 hours. It was tragic in regard to the 1500 souls who lost their lives, but this is a tool for understanding and learning for our endeavors going forward.
* The Network Behind the Cosmic Web
This is hands down the coolest visualization I have ever seen. This shows the different connections between the hundreds of thousands of galaxies in the universe.
* Shifting Parent Work Hours, Mom vs. Dad
An interesting look at parents and how they divide their time. Again, no comment on my own part, it is just an interesting look at the data behind.
