… and then I found out after I purchase it, that Apple has already started manufacturing MacPro’s with firmware that is not backwards compatible with Snow Leopard?
Yes, I am stuck on Lion. I went to the dreaded Mac store on Thursday night, and was informed that my computer already had hardware that wouldn’t work with Snow Leopard. Why Apple thought it was a good idea to jump into their new OS, which was just released last month, blows my mind. Good thing that not very many people rely on Macs for their work and business… like, film… or… audio, and making such a commitment wouldn’t be such a big deal.
So, my current shit-list is as follows:
1.) Apple
2.) Avid
That’s right, Avid. My audio programming teacher had release information on Lion in March, and was already making adjustments to his iPhone apps… you have one of the most powerful audio programs in the world, and you couldn’t have at least started on this? I’m getting news that Pro Tools won’t be Lion compatible until late this year, maybe Spring of 2012? I’d backhand you if I had the desire to drive up to Daly City.
That being said, I am going to be using Logic, Audacity, and Ardour until PT gets its shit together. I’m being very zen about it, at least this ensures that I can seamlessly jump between DAW’s.
This post was typed begrudgingly from my stupid MacBook Pro, you know, the one that won’t run stupid Pro Tools
